The 27 Club

The 27 Club is a notional list of musicians, artists or actors who died at age twenty seven, often as a result of drug and alcohol abuse, or violent means such as homicide, suicide, or transportation-related accidents.  Originally, the deaths of several twenty-seven-year-old musicians, namely Brian Jones from The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and James Morrison from The Doors between 1969 and 1971 led to the popular supposition that deaths are more common at this age.

As Astrologers what would we make of this ‘27’ period? This lecture will explore the astrology of that time in everyone's life and the role of a certain planet.
